Medieval Literature
The Medieval section of ABES seeks out and assesses the best
scholarship and critical studies relating to language and
literature relating to the period between 500 and 1450 CE.
Dr Kathryn Lowe, ABES Section Editor for Medieval Literature, is Senior Lecturer in the Department of English Language and Director of the Glasgow Centre for Medieval and Renaissance Studies. The Centre provides students and researchers with an interdisciplinary study of a broad range of disciplines and areas of knowledge relating to all aspects and periods of medieval and early modern culture, including but not limited to languages, literatures, history and visual culture. The teaching of the interdisciplinary MLitt course draws on the wide range of interests and expertise of over sixty medievalists across disciplines - one of the largest medieval cohorts of any university in the world - and on the important resources of the University Library, which include world-class manuscript collections, area museums and art galleries, and other resources to be found in the University and City Galleries and Museums and across Scotland.
